Languages of Worship

  • Ideal for churches dealing with worship style issues.
  • A three-hour training event for the entire congregation.
  • Discover how the crucifixion, resurrection and Pentecost changed worship for God's people; understand what Jesus meant when he talked about "true worshipers".
  • Learn how God has created each of us with specific preferences in how we draw near to Him; learn to draw near to God TOGETHER despite the different "languages" we speak.
  • Understand the difference between personal worship and corporate worship, and see how each of the Five Principles of Unity applies to our corporate worship experience.

The "Languages of Worship" Conference was a great lift to our church... It totally reframed the conversation [about worship style], reminding us that the worship issue isn't ultimately about style, it's about relationships.

The material makes great use of the "language" metaphor, showing the parallel between learning to speak a foreign tongue and loving someone enough to learn their worship language.  The conference makes ample use of scriptures, providing a strong Biblical basis for understanding worship, the nature of Christian community, and principles for strengthening the relational fabric of the church.  This conference gave our church a common reference point and a common language for dealing with the worship issue.  It challenged us to put first things first by devoting more attention than ever to the development of relationships across the wide diversity of our congregation.
